Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! We hope that you all have a great day with your loved ones: family, partner, friends and of course FURRY friends!
Here are some safety pet tips to keep in mind this Valentine’s Day:
Chocolate? …Don’t think so!- Remember that chocolate is highly toxic to both cats and dogs! Considering that you have a high chance of coming across a box of chocolates, be mindful to not let your pets near your delicious treats
Sending flowers? – If you are sending flowers to that special someone who has a cat, do not send arrangements containing Lilies. Lilies are fatal to cats if they get a hold of them. Visit https://www.aspca.org/pet-care/animal-poison-control/toxic-and-non-toxic-plants to go over a list of toxic and non-toxic plants to pets. Also, be careful with rose thorns, they can hurt your pet physically and will cause terrible gastrointestinal problems if swallowed.
A toast to love and friendship? – Be careful with spilling wine or allowing your pet to have access to leftover liquor. Even a small amount of alcohol can do a lot of harm to your pets such as vomiting, diarrhea, breathing difficulties, etc.
Do not leave lit candles unattended. Curious pets can get burned or can knocked them over and cause a fire.
Valentine decorations are beautiful, but are a choking hazard to your furry friends.
Have a lovely and safe Valentine’s Day!
